Typical of the Summit family of grills, the Weber Summit S-460 LP version does not come with a liquid propane tank when purchased. The NG version includes a ten-foot connection hose from the grill to the natural gas source. This grill has four stainless steel, 48,000 BTU burners, each with their own Snap-Jet individual ignition system. The Weber Summit S-460 grill has a total cooking area of 580 square inches, including 468 square inches of primary cooking space and 112 square inches for a warming rack.

The S-460 gas grill is the smaller of two Summit Built-In grills. Additional features include some of the typical Summit gas grill highlights, such as the stainless-steel Flavorizer bars, Tuck-Away Rotisserie burner, and cooking grates that are 9.5mm diameter stainless-steel easy-to-clean rods, as found on other Summit gas grill models. The 10,600 BTU-per-hour sear station burner takes full advantage of the concentrated heat without reducing the grilling space. The efficient sear station will boost the heat for searing, and then lower the heat for regular grilling.

New to Summit’s S-460 is innovative lighted control knobs along the front of the grill so you can adjust heat settings no matter your lighting situation. The SlideFrame design makes installation into your outdoor kitchen simple. This SlideFrame feature will save you time, money and aggravation while installing this built-in grill.

According to 5 five-star reviews and 1 four-star evaluation, the Weber Summit S-460 puts the Summit family of grills on the next level in outdoor grilling. Considered among the best of all Weber grills, the cost is also considered appropriate due to its durability and quality construction.

The combination of stainless and porcelain on this built-in outdoor gas grill looks great in any backyard setting. The S-460 also has two swivel casters and two locking casters, allowing the grill to be mobile, if needed.

Included with the S-460 Built-In Summit grill, Weber designed a storage cabinet with doors and a shelf under the grill. Another popular feature of this Summit grill is a permanent, center-mounted thermometer. In response to previous negative comments and reviews of rust and messy grease traps, the Summit S-460 gas grill comes with a heavy-duty vinyl grill cover.

At present time, no negative reviews have been reported, so for this review, the following PROS are noted:

  • Summit S460 rotissere infraredAttractive design and quality craftsmanship
  • Easy assembly; easy to use; easy clean-up
  • Quick grill time
  • Even heat
  • Substantial upgrade, even over other Weber grills

Although not important enough to rank as a serious problem, the one consumer that gave the Summit S-460 a four-star review did not care for the handle light that came with the grill. After a few hours of attempting to get the light to work, this user found a unique place to put the light – in the trash! This same customer, however, also claimed to have delicious steaks that same night and was anxious to use the rotisserie feature.

Consumers that purchased this grill were very happy with their Summit S-460 Built-In gas grill. Fans of Weber grills across the board declare that you get what you pay for including great customer support as is expected with any Weber grill. Reviews rave about appearance and quality of the grill, along with the delicious food they prepared. All consumers that reviewed the grill commented that the Summit S-460 is the best grill they had ever owned, and with simple installation, most were cooking the very day they purchased.
